Trinity:
The Doctrine of a Biblical Triune God
Hoax, Hocus-pocus, or Holy Smoke?

Huhn?! Dah?!  Waaaah?!  That, is about the best and cleanest of the upper echelon of worst and lowest possible appraisals one might ever
want to assign this hopelessly, shamelessly, definitely non-adroit handling of
the Word of the Living God.  The man who penned the above
sentiments, one figures, must have been either drunk, stoned or, both (given its evident lack of sense, and want for coherence), or just plain
careless!
Nonetheless, therein lies the motivation behind the writing of this article.  The chief impetus, in light of the motivation
however, is the knowledge and understanding that
the issue is another one of those paramount in the heart and mind of the Almighty,
though trivialized or simply misunderstood, botched and misrepresented, downplayed, denied and/or just plain ignored altogether by the
churches, in every era.  Though
the term “Trinity” is never used anywhere in the Bible, the concept certainly is and, it is God’s desire
that His churches be so apprised, correctly
.  His wish is to be known, as He is presented in the Book.  All the so-called “church fathers
were ignorant on this subject (and so it seems, I might add, is most anyone and everyone who fills a pulpit or a classroom in this day); they
did not understand, yet, in my humble estimation, credit may be due for the fact that they at least grappled with it (the truth being, however,
that none may be forthcoming, from God).  The biblical teaching and position is plain, nevertheless, it does require an investment of time and
self, and one must be in proper relationship to his Maker, before he will ever see or appreciate it.
It is my prayer that this treatise will clarify
the mystique surrounding the issue of the Trinity and that
the church will awaken to the reality that the degree to which one invests
himself down here—getting to know God’s Christ—has or will have a direct, definite impact upon whether He will recognize
him or
her
up there, in that day—church membership and prolific involvement, notwithstanding (Matt. 7:21-24).

Comments: = I wanted to know if you knew that
the trinity-gospel is false and that Jesus Christ is the only True God. Tertillian invented the trinity belives of
the churches of today. Deut. 6:4 and Mark 12:28 stip. that there's only one God and Rev. 15: 2-4 tells us that the only ones that will survive the 666.
The Lamb is the
only Holy One
Ask yourself this. If the Father are Holy and Spirit, than there can be now second Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Father and the Father is the Spirit
of Jesus. Isa.9:6 tells us "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

Comments: = Remember that Jesus died for His own.
Stick to Scripture. I can prove that the righteous will not be 'raptured'. It will be the one that will be taken
away to hell. That is Scriptural. It will be like in the days of Noah.

Mr. Clarkson:

As we are in all cases of visitation, let me begin with this statement of how thrilled we are that you took the time out of you busy schedule to
spend time with us to day.  I must state also, however, that unfortunately, I do not have the time to spend on the topic of the issue you raise,
insofar as, I have other writing projects in the works, I am behind, and I must do all that I can to get them done as quickly as possible.  I am
running out of money and time, and I may never get another wonderful opportunity like this again.

Now, that said, let me assure you, my friend, that
the Bible does in fact teach a “Trinitarian” concept of God.  Consider these passages
and brief arguments (if the ones you site do in fact “stipulate” God in only one Person, as you suggest, then what do these signify; moreover,
bear in mind that the term translated “
God” in Deut. 6:4, and in virtually every other place in the Old Testament, is the Heb. word “Elohim”,
plural of the term “
Eloah”, which means “God” singular.  While the Jew, in whose language this concept occurred might have had difficulty
grasping and explaining it, he would (or, should!) have had no difficulty seeing the “dichotomy”.  God's choice and
repeated reference to
Himself in the plural, to any mind capable of at least some rationale and “discernment”, was and is not the least without significance, rhyme or
reason; nor is it arbitrary or capricious.  He was not at all ignorant of the grammar of His people.  With regard to how He chose to represent
Himself before, and in the eyes of Israel, He knew full well the difference between His term of choice, and its singular alternative.  He
understood fully, the ramifications.  Hence, when He said to them “
hear, oh Israel: Jehovah (the Self-existing, Eternal One:  single) our
Elohim
(Gods:  plural of, and as opposed to Eloah:  singular) is one Jehovah, was He by any means saying that “God is only one
individual”?  Again, filleting or gutting this declaration on the horns of any inquisitive mind (by any means, or to any degree adroit), nets
a
message that at first glance is both self-contradictory and absurd
.  But, is it?  Must it be?  A single Jehovah, who is our plural Elohim, is
equal to one
single Jehovah!  Huhn?!  No doubt, that’s the equation, now what’s the point?  There isss a point, Mr. Clarkson.  This is not
an idle assertion.  Are we not talking “
God” here, who has a kind of fetish for speaking in familiar terms, sometimes concealing messages
which often
require His people to streeeetch, bending their hearts and minds more and more toward Him, away (conversely) from the
“familiar”, before one can fathom and appreciate their meaning?  Therefore, we conclude then, that the fact is,
His desire was and is that
He be thought of, recognized and received as a Plurality of “Individuals”
(all having the same attributes, goals and aspirations, aims and
objectives, power, privileges and potential, authority, and level of sovereignty),
who make up the One God, Jehovah Elohim.  All of that
nation’s needs and concerns (and ours) can be met, as it were, in One Stop, by a “multiplicity” of individuals (no readily quantifiable hints
were ever given in the Old Testament, as to how many), all acting in concert, with one accord.  God’s designation or classification of Himself
thusly, is in stark contrast to the system, or pantheon of god’s to which the newly freed slaves from Egypt were accustomed.  In this, and
virtually all such similar systems, one practically had a god to meet every need (by now it should be clear that this Book, the Bible, must not
simply be read to be understood, it must be read with “discernment”, watered with prayer for guidance from the Holy Spirit,
Third Person of
the
Holy Trinity.).

Before moving on, do you perhaps wonder, are you in anywise baffled or befuddled as to
why God did not do more to break the news of
or make clear the Trinitarian aspect of His nature
, during Old Testament times?  Probably the best answer, and I think with this you will
agree, is that in the economy of the Almighty, there is a time and a place for everything.  For instance, the time for the unveiling of his
prophecy, Daniel was informed, was in “the end times” (
Dan. 12:4).  Peter was told of other prophets who, upon inquiry regarding the
significance and meaning of their respective prophecies, were told themselves that some of the things about which they spoke were in fact
intended for the hearing and understanding of others, in the then distant future (
I Peter 1:9-12).  When asked of a precise time of His next
“advent”, Jesus’ disciples were told that this was a matter of which the Father had chosen to discussed with no one, not the angels in heaven,
not even the Son Himself (
Matt. 24:36; Mark 13:32).  So likewise, similarly, the precise nature and make-up of the Godhead was simply
another one of those matters deemed not one with which the OT Israelis needed to concern themselves.  It is however one over which we of
the church and the post-NT, present day Jews should be vitally concerned.  Having been spelled out, and laid out for us in no uncertain terms,
the Trinity is integral part of becoming acquainted with, and getting to know your Maker (Jesus, the Christ of Calvary).
Although the term
itself is nowhere to be found in either the Old or the New Testaments, the concept of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are graphically
portrayed throughout the New Testament, and the Father and the Son fully expect that
all saints will understand, accept and
embrace the reality of all three.

Now let us begin our look at those New Testament scriptures, which support the Trinity:

John 1:1-4
Notice here, if you would please, Mr. Clarkson, that we are virtually “forced” to see a “Duality” of individuals, in these verses alone.  The first
person brought to our attention is
the Word, as a distinct individual, while the second person is God, as separate and distinct, individual from
the Word!  Then, we are told, in the same verse, in practically the same breathe, that while
each was a separate and distinct individual in
the beginning being together,
they were at the same time, on the other hand exactly, identically the same!  Is such a thing even possible?
Consider this
sidebar:

Everything in our world and throughout the entire universe, has its roots in the world of the unseen.  Every solid, every liquid, and
every gas reduces chemically to some form of energy (called “superstrings”, by physicists).  The product of
Intelligent Design, the genius
under girding the makeup and the construction of this world is so “bizarre”, that there is “
space” within everything that is quantifiably “space”
surrounding you. And, within that “
space” harbored by all that open “space” around you, there is constant, never ending activity, the product
of “substance” or, particles in motion, which themselves are the consequence of energy that never diminishes or takes a rest (one might
further point that this exact same phenomenon is true of all solids, liquids and gases).  Hence ultimately, the substance and the essence, the
how and the why behind the existence of the whole cosmos rests solidly, squarely within the arms of all that is invisible and imperceptible to
the human senses.  Moreover then, we cannot but conclude,
that which we perceive, the way we perceive it, must for this reason not be
the norm
(i.e., it is, per Einstein perhaps in some sense, all relative).  Therefore, when the Almighty renders assertions and comments relative
to His Person and Nature—any and all of which beckon, as it were, in demand that we invest all our intellectual energies in evaluation and
assessment (plumbing the depths) of their content, for value—
we are compelled to reach beyond our finite capabilities and our innate
limitations
(hedged about though we are indeed, mankind is not utterly locked in by them), so that in the end we see things form God’s
perspective
.  If you had understood anything at all about the world of the basics of “physics”, my friend, then, you would have known that
there is a lot about the world(s) of the “unseen”—where God resides, and that far beyond the roots of all we know and see—that we simply
cannot comprehend, without assistance from on High; and when we hear of it, it makes positively, no sense (and, yes, He has given us that
assistance in His written Word, the Bible; boosted and supplemented by recent findings and developments in the realm of physics, in the
verses at which we will now “take a gander”).   The reality is, occurrences and realities there simply do not (nor do they
have to) conform to
what we know as or “think” is the norm in our world.  This, how shall we say “
triology”(?) of the Trilogy of God, is one of those “things”
(ordinarily, it makes no sense, and so, is difficult to computer—being the “norm”,
outside our domain!).  Our modern physical world,
complete with these marvelous contraptions (among many other things) called computers and the World Wide Web, are products and/or bi-
products of this reality.  I go into some of this in a bit more detail in my soon-to-be released book, “
The Mystery:  Christ Jesus”.  Be sure to
get a copy, ok?

The point of the passage in question, given the distinctions and the several repetitions made, is to stress and lay emphasis upon the fact
that neither of the two Personages cited exists, or is a reality to the exclusion of the other
.  Moreover, Mr. Clarkson, realizing that it is
fairly obvious that you have not studied the Bible with any understanding,
have you actually studied Tertullian?  Regardless of what he
taught, the fact is, he did not invent or contrive the notion of the Trinity (although he may well have been the first to notice it).  It is plainly
taught within this chapter of John as well as in the “birth” and inaugural chapters of Matthew and Luke. Here in John, we are shown that it
was the Word, who begcame flesh and tabernacled among men, whom He Himself created.  Matthew and Luke give us clues as to how this
feat was accomplished (I’ll not go into the details here, given that they have already been covered sufficiently at
www.biblestudyhour.
net/TheGospelataGlance.html and at www.biblestudyhour.com/Jesus.html.  I will also cover the issue more thoroughly in my book, “The
Mystery:…”.  Don’t’chu’ forget now, do make plans to get your copy!).
