Had Jesus Not Come
As a Man, among men

“What would happen if Jesus Christ never took the human form to come to Earth and become crucified?”  Recalling the term “Ashraf” as one in connection with “Sajeel Ashraf”, an
apparently Christian organization out of Islamic Pakistan, headed by one Peter Ashna (whose ministry is dedicated to answering the cry of the hearts of many among his countrymen, waiting to
know more about Jesus), I naturally (and erroneously) assumed that
Ashraf Farassati—whose question here (@ 12/16/04) forms the impetus for this article—was a man.  So, I addressed “Mr.”
Farassati in the following treatise in an effort to quell “his” concerns, only to have “him” inform
me later that “he” in fact is a “she” in the form of a twelve year Muslim female student at
Chaminade Middle School, somewhere in California (
www.chaminade.org, is the school’s web address)!    Therefore, I would have you to know that “him” addressed as “Mr.” is actually
“Ms.” Farassati, wisely and cleverly (perhaps) taking to the internet in search of information by which she could fulfill a requirement for a report (an essay) due in her language studies class, in
which she and her fellow students probed the question “what if….” (in a venture, I shall now wander out onto a limb here once again, and
assume that she means “what if Jesus had never
come?”).

Whatever!  It is a great question, bringing with it a another grand opportunity for witness in the Name of and on behalf of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ of Calvary.  Upon my last
contact with her, “Ms.” Farassati had only turned in the rough draft of her report, so she had no grade to share, but assures me that the information was “really” helpful.  Hopefully, prayerfully,
many more will now be blessed, inspired and encouraged by the content of this brief “message” I shared with “her”, and now share with the world, titled "Had Jesus not Come...".

Mr. Farassati:

How nice to hear from you and to know that you took the time to visit with us at
www.biblestudyhour.net.  The question you pose is a
very good one.  However, as I am in the midst of trying to complete three books by the middle of next year, and as it is our aim here at
biblestudyhour.net to answer all inquiry thoroughly, accurately and biblically, I should appreciate your giving me a couple of days to do
the research and prayer essential to a good solid, strong, Bible based answer (that is the duty of all Christian ministers and teachers:  to
teach and spread the Word of God, not personal or denominational biases or views).

Suffice it to say for now, that
had Jesus not come to earth in human form—as He did—had He not died—as He did (His was a
vicarious death; He was, and that quite literally, “
born to die”)—then we, all mankind would have been left with no alternative but
to die ourselves
, at God’s hand, the very hand of Him who created us!  There would have been no escape.  Because of the fall of
Adam
, whose action set the tone for all creation—particularly the human race—everything must now be destroyed (we are like,
living, breathing, breeding, self-sustaining, self-perpetuating
cracked pots in the eyes of the Holy, Almighty God—capable of bearing
nothing else, ever, beyond more “cracked” pots—and that is totally unacceptable to Him).
The cost of this “cracked” state of being
(sin) is “
death”, we are told in Romans 6:23.  As destruction then, is the only remedy for our condition (left to our own devices, to
work out a payment) the only satisfaction God would ever get out of our dying for our own shortcomings (all predicated upon, due to,
the fall of the first man ever created, Adam), is in our being destroyed out of His sight forever.  That is what would have happened, to
every man, woman and child ever born,
had Jesus not come to earth as He did (For all who do not know Jesus the Christ as Lord and
Savior—in the pardoning of their sins—that is what will yet happen, in the end!).  To the extrication and expiation of our souls, we
cannot pay the cost of Adam’s fall ourselves—no man (of Adam’s race) can, no matter how good or righteous he is.  Herein lies the
beauty and the exigency of the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
His, relieves us of the necessity for ours, if we will only trust and
accept that He is the Son of God, sent as a Lamb before God, so that He might die on our behalf—a channel true, as sure, diverting from
us our just due in terms of the wrath of God [In addition, it might (no, must!) be said that, in no uncertain terms,
the chief purpose
(
the mission), the driving force behind the living of Almighty God—among the men whom He created—in the form of the Man Jesus
of Nazareth was, “
Death”.  Jesus Christ came into this world to “die, to absorb in His own body the very punishment that He, as
Creator, would have been forced to deal to us,
had He not come.  Just as (according to the Christ) no man can demonstrate a greater
love
, than one which demands and claims his own life in exchange for another’s, so likewise, God (the Triune God; Elohim Yahweh,
as this was part of the  plan laid in stone before even the world itself was created)
could think of no greater love than to give His
only Son
(a sinless Life; Himself God, the actual Creator of all; see John 1) to take our sin stricken place, paying and satisfying the cost
of Adam’s folly and fall.

Moreover,
had Jesus not come, Ashraf, and died for us, we then, therefore, would all have been left (without the slightest hope of
deliverance) to face and suffer an
eternal separation from God in hellfire and brimstone—a punishment in waiting, reserved for one
called
the devil [himself also a rebel, like man, and—though a created spirit being—a demonic adversary and chief rival in contention for
the Throne of God His Maker (Isaiah 14:10-15; Ezekiel 2811:19; also known as Lucifer and as Satan], his fallen angelic comrades and all
men who refuse God’s call to “
repentance” (Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:11-15).  Trust Him today, if you have not already.

The Lord willing, I will (in one way or another, at one time or another) develop this subject more and place the article on my website
sometime in the days ahead.  I hope that for now this will at least answer your question in a nutshell.  (Insofar as I have written more
today than I had intended, I may now take a little longer to put together the article for my website, but will do it, as God permits.  Bear
with me, ok?!  Thanks!).

Thanks for stopping by and for giving me this opportunity to respond.

In His service,

Alvin Mitchell
